C.A.R.E. Assists The Real Estate Community – Members in Need

Sacramento, CA – February 14, 2008 – The C.A.R.E. (Catastrophic Aid for Real Estate) Board of Directors today provided over $10,000.00 in financial grants to two families in the real estate community that are currently suffering through catastrophic circumstances.

Due to the nature of our industry, a high percentage of individuals in real estate live on commission sales. When tragedy strikes, C.A.R.E. is able to provide financial grants. C.A.R.E. is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. Funding comes from both individual and corporate donations as well as fundraising efforts and events in the community, organized by community members willing to donate time and resources. The C.A.R.E. Board of Directors is made up of real estate agents and affiliate volunteers who review applications.

In an effort to provide short-term support for specific needs, today the C.A.R.E. Board approved grants to two families facing very challenging circumstances, with little to no remaining resources to rely upon.

One of these members of our community is suffering from a long-term illness and struggling with various treatments and hospital care that far exceeds their current medical coverage. In addition, as a result of the real estate market and illness, they are in the process of losing their home.

The other case in which C.A.R.E. has provided financial support today involves another community member who is in financial distress, with a spouse who is terminally ill.

C.A.R.E. is fortunate to have funds available to assist in these two circumstances, but our funding is sporadic and we receive applications for financial and other forms of support quite frequently. Please support C.A.R.E. by participating in one of our future C.A.R.E. events:

05/17/08: “Evening Under The Stars”
06/12/08: “Chili Cook Off”
06/28/08-06/29/08: “Passport Weekend”

C.A.R.E. is currently in the process of creating a new website, www.CareGives.org, with information for donors and other parties and corporations seeking information about our efforts, as well as applications for those seeking assistance from our organization.

C.A.R.E. actively requests any and all financial aid, from fellow community members as well as corporate donations.

We are also assembling a “Friends of C.A.R.E.” Sponsorship Program in which individual and corporate donors will receive formal acknowledgement of contributions on our website and promotional/marketing material.

If you have any questions or offers of support, please contact C.A.R.E. so that we can collectively work together to help fellow community members in their most vital times of need.

PCAR’s “Chili Cook Off” – June 19, 2008

March 20, 2008

We are pleased to announce PCAR’s First Annual Chili Cook Off, with proceeds going to both CanTree and C.A.R.E.

What is CanTree?

Each year thousands of families are fed during the holidays by the Salvation Army. CanTree is an organization established by the Sacramento and Placer County Board of REALTORS® to help raise funds that are donated to the Salvation Army.

If you feed them, they will come!

We are expecting to have hundreds of top REALTORS and affiliates attend this fun-filled afternoon on June 19, 2008 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the Placer County Association of REALTORS®: 4750 Grove Street, Rocklin.

Silent auction tables will close at 1:30. The event will include silent and live auction items, with the proceeds donated to these two organizations. We will have food, music, fun, and auction excitement.

How can you help?

What can you donate?

Items that are unique, collectible, or services of value. We have seen the following with prior events: sports and entertainment memorabilia, gift baskets, dinners, parties, vacation packages, gift certificates, and business and entertainment services. We love creativity. These items will get your name out to a large group of professionals. We also need donations for the event itself, such as table coverings, decorations, flatware, serving items, utensils, etc.

How and where you can donate?

You can drop off your items at the Placer County Association of REALTORS® or call Peter Crowell at (916) 223-2937 to arrange pick-up. All donations need to be received by Tuesday, June 17th for this event.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
